I’m sure I am way behind the curve on this one but, I just found out about the Google Advanced Image Search.  I cannot believe I had not heard of this before.

Google advanced image search is a powerful tool for searching for images.  You can narrow your search results by:

• Image Size
• Aspect Ratio
• Colors in Image
• Type of image
• Region
• Site or Domain
• File Type
• Usage Rights

This tool make finding images fast and easy.  I especially like to user rights feature for finding images I can use on my websites.

Chris Guthrie over at “Make Money On The Internet Blog” is doing an experiment on building links to a niche website.  This is a multi-part series as Chris works through the process.   Chris’s premise is that Google tells everyone that if you build a site with great unique content, you will be rewarded with good search engine rankings and life will be grand.  It seems that that is not entirely true and it has a lot to do with the links pointing to your site.   So what it comes down to is who does the best marketing and gets the most high quality links.  I like this quote from Chris.

“It’s not the quality of the product that matters most, but the marketing behind it”

In the WordPress dashboard under “Settings, “Discussion”. At the top of the page under default article settings you can un-check  “Allow people to post comments on new articles”.

If you already have existing posts on your blog that you want to turn off comments for,  under “Other comments settings” check “automatically close comments on articles older than 14 days” also change 14 to 1 day and save your settings at the bottom of the page.  That should turn off comments on new and existing posts.  If you have any existing comments on posts, you will still see them.  No new comments will  be allowed.

Warning.. My writing may be disjointed and not meet all the standards set forth by great writers.  My goal here is to get it out there more so than making sure it’s perfect.  If I try to make it perfect, you will never see it because I will never get around to posting it.  That has been a big problem in the past as you will soon see or read.

Ok, with that being said.  I’m not quite sure where to start.  I have decided to let things go and just blog about what my hang ups are and all the things that are holding me back.  I have spent many years just spinning my wheels and not getting anything accomplished.  I have been working online since 1994 and have accomplished some things, but nothing like I should have.  If I would have let it rip I would have a lot more done and probably allot more online success.  You know, “Ready, Fire Aim”

This quote by General Colin Powell says it all ” it’s easier to make decisions right than to make the right decisions.”

Don’t wait until the stars line up and everything is perfect.  Just do it and see what happens!

I know there are a lot of folks out there like me.  Stuck in a rut of planning and analysis and never really accomplishing anything worth while in pursuit of their goals. Now I am no expert in getting out of a rut but, I can school ya in how to get in one. Plan, plan, plan.  Analyze, analyze, analyze  and then do nothing toward your goals.

Ok, so whats the plan?  The plan is to just put it out there and see where it goes.  I’m done trying to figure out if I should post once a day, twice a week, once a week, etc.  How should I structure my blog?  Should I use pages or categories? Post and tags? What should I blog about?  Should I create a blog for each subject?  I’m sure you get the picture.

I am going to post when I want and see how it plays out.  I am going to talk about motivation, productivity,time management, business and who knows what else.  I am going to talk about what is working for me and whats not.   most of all, I am just going to write and let things play out as they will.  I will tell you up front that I am not going to be perfect and that’s ok with me.  I don’t think you should try to be perfect either.  Just be real and tell it like it is.  I am done with planning and now I am in the doing phase of my projects.

Wow, I feel better already.  I think this may be a good thing.  At least I can say I made progress forward with this post. 2012 is going to be a great year.
